Sri Lanka Hit by Cyclone and Heavy Rain: A Nation in Crisis — Please Help and Pray

Over the past few days, Sri Lanka has been struck by a powerful cyclone system that brought relentless heavy rainfall across the island. As a result, many regions are facing severe flooding, landslides, road blockages, property damage, and humanitarian emergencies.

Thousands of families have been displaced, while many others remain stranded with limited access to food, clean water, and medical assistance. The situation continues to worsen as rains persist and water levels rise.

Massive Flooding & Landslides Across the Country

Entire communities in several districts are underwater. Rivers have overflowed, homes have been submerged, and essential infrastructure has been badly affected.
Many rural and urban areas are experiencing:

  • Severe floods that swept through villages
  • Landslides destroying homes and blocking roads
  • Damaged bridges and washed-away roads
  • Power outages and communication failures
  • Schools and public buildings temporarily closed

Rescue operations are underway, but heavy rain and dangerous ground conditions are slowing down relief efforts.

Victims Need Immediate Assistance

While emergency teams and volunteers are working tirelessly, the scale of the disaster is overwhelming. Thousands of affected Sri Lankans urgently need:

  • Clean drinking water
  • Dry rations & cooked meals
  • Clothing and blankets
  • Medicine & first-aid supplies
  • Temporary shelter
  • Support for children, elders, and people with disabilities

Every donation, no matter how small, helps someone survive another day.
